Welp, this is my 200th post. Unbelievable.
I thought about what to do to make it snazzy and exciting, and came up with... nothing.
Hah.
It's not my style to do that anyway.. I'm more of a "wait until 217, and then do something out of the blue" kind of guy.
The weekend went well. Friday I had a hard time settling into a groove at the gym. I did a mile on the treadmill, a mile on the track, and 15 minutes of biking. I was supposed to do 3 miles of running, but it seemed like a good compromise.
Saturday was my long run.. I put in 8 miles on the indoor track. I thought doing 120 laps would suck, but it really didn't. I stopped and grabbed a drink every 2 miles, and just banged out the miles. I kept loose track of the time on the wall clock, and I think I was putting out 10 minute miles, which is what I was aiming for.
Afterward, I felt great. There's nothing that feels quite like the feeling after a long run. I just love it.
I was using my foam roller this weekend, and my wife says to me something along the lines of "every time you use that, you really grimace". Furthermore "if you weren't better, you would have to go to PT". Sigh. I think it really does help, and the grimace is part of it. At physical therapy, they're just going to hurt you anyway. Hehe. I think I convinced her (for now).
So, anything else going on? Not much. I did watch my first episode of Oprah this weekend.
My wife indicated that Denis Leary was going to be on, should she record it..? I'm a big fan of Denis, so I agreed.
After watching it, let me say this. If Denis was on all the time, I'd be watching it all the time. He's great. He got along well with the people on it. It was a very interesting show.
(That being said, I'm not going to become a regular viewer at this point.)
Ah well, keep on rockin' everyone..

hmm, i actually yell in pain on the foam roller sometimes (that was horrible grammar). happy 200 :)
If you use the foam roller consistantly, it is going to pay dividends going forward. And it is supposed to be uncomfortable, that's just how it works. But it's a lot less uncomfortable than dealing with an injury, so stick with it.
Nice job with the run, although I think I might get dizzy if I went around in a circle that many times.
Congrats on your 200th post!! Wow, that's a great mileston. And great job on your 8 miler!! :-)
I hope I get to the "grimace" part of the IT roller. I'm hurting like hell when I'm rolling mine out. It hurts really bad, but......no IT band issues when I'm running, spinning, etc. It really does work and I'm hoping to not have any issues in 09'.
BTW, happy 200.
