Monday monday

Well, I got home and jumped right into doing my pushups. I was between weeks 2 and 3, and it was time to do another exhaustion test.

I don't know if it was the 4 hours of sleep I had the night before, the long day at work, or the fact that I'm a weakling (probably choice 3), but I barely eeked out 27. It still puts me in the rightmost column for week 3, so I'm happy about that. I am very worried about being able to do the week, though. :(

Ugh.

My running buddy came over, and we clocked 3 easy miles. She's got a lot on her plate now and used the time as a venting session. I feel bad for her. One of the stressful topics is her upcoming bridal shower.. I did mention that "this is why guys don't have showers".

I mean, seriously. I can't imagine that.. who gets invited? "I can't invite so and so, because so and so doesn't want them".
Guys are just guys. "Yeah, sure, bring him along." Worst case: "Yeah, sure, but we might be low on beer.. grab a 12 pack on the way if you would"

None of this registry stuff, either. I can't imagine guys saying "Gee, why are you registered at Target? Shouldn't you be registered at Pottery Barn?". Instead, it'd be: "Here's some scratch.. Sorry I didn't have more to give you. Next time we go out, drinks are on me.""

Craziness. Pure craziness.

I also watched the Home Run Derby.. I don't usually, but felt like it last night. What a show by Josh Hamilton. A shame he didn't win, but a very very impressive show.

There's always one person planning the shower who won't lead, follow, or get out of the way - she obstructs!
